At 40, I was a former collegiate athlete running on caffeine, fast food, candy, and whatever was left over after I'd given everything I had to everyone else. I thought that was just what ambition looked like.

Then my body sent me a bill I couldn't ignore. In early 2024, I was diagnosed with severe ulcerative colitis. I lost 25 pounds in two months. I could barely eat, barely walk, barely function. I had accidents at work. I was too scared to eat lunch because I didn't know what would happen.

I chose to fight. I completely overhauled my nutrition, cut out alcohol, caffeine, and processed food, and leaned into a whole-foods approach. I did the mindset work. I rewired my limiting beliefs. I finally let myself dream of a different life.

I enrolled at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition mid-recovery. Not because I was completely healed but because I needed to understand what had happened to my body and how to help other women before it happened to theirs.
